Indian Festival Calendar ("we", "our", "the app") is a free, ad-supported Android application available on Google Play. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, what it does not collect, and the choices you have. By downloading, installing or using the app you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide (optional)
- Feedback & support messages — if you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to share in the message.
- Account data — none today. If an optional sign-in is introduced in a future update, only your email address would be collected, and it would always remain optional.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information — device model, Android version, app version and language (used for compatibility and crash triage).
- Anonymous usage analytics — which screens or features are opened and session length. This data is not used to identify you.
- Crash reports — stack traces and device state when the app crashes, so we can fix problems quickly.
- Push notification token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token, generated only if you enable notifications, used to deliver your festival reminders.
- Approximate region — country/region derived from your IP address, used to show appropriate festival date options for your region.
- Advertising-related data — the app shows ads served by Google AdMob. For this, Google collects the device advertising identifier (Advertising ID), approximate location (IP-derived) and ad-interaction events (ads you view, tap or dismiss). You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation in your device's Google settings.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
The app does not collect or access:
- Your name, phone number, contacts or address book
- Your precise (GPS) location
- Your photos, videos, files, camera or microphone
- Your SMS messages, call logs or phone state
- Data used to build a profile of you as a person — there are no accounts and never will be profiles that we own

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or any other commercial purpose.

We do not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage, phone state or SMS permissions.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers:

These providers process data under their own privacy terms — see Google's Privacy Policy and Google AdMob's data policy. The website shown in the Meditation section is governed by its own publisher's terms and privacy policy.
6. Local Storage on Your Device
Some data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:
- Theme preference (light / dark / system)
- Reminder & notification settings
- Favourites and other in-app preferences
- Secure storage — any tokens, now or in the future, are kept in platform-secure storage (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain)
7. Data Retention & Deletion
- Local data — deleting or uninstalling the app removes all data stored on your device immediately.
- Analytics & crash reports — retained by our providers only for as long as needed for product improvement, then deleted per their retention terms.
- Advertising data — retained by the ads provider (Google) per its own retention terms; you can find the details in Google's data policy.
- Support emails — kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.
- Data deletion requests — email us and we will delete any account-linked data we hold; since there are no accounts today, this mainly covers email correspondence.
8. Data Security
- All network traffic uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher); cleartext HTTP is blocked by the app's network security configuration.
- Release builds are signed and code-shrunk, with no debug networking enabled.
- Access to our development and support channels is restricted to the developer team.
9. Children's Privacy
The app is designed to be suitable for general audiences and family-friendly, and is rated accordingly for Google Play's Family Policy. Where applicable, advertising shown in the app is configured to comply with Google Play's Families Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your country). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your country, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion and objection. You can always:
- Disable notifications — from system settings or the app's Settings screen.
- Opt out of analytics — via Settings → Privacy (where available).
- Control personalised ads — reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalisation in your device's Google settings (Settings → Google → Ads); you will then see non-personalised ads.
- Clear everything — uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored data.
- Request deletion or export — email us and we will take care of it.
11. International Users & Compliance
- EU/EEA & UK (GDPR): we respect your rights; contact us to exercise them. Where required by law, a consent choice (personalised vs non-personalised ads) is presented in-app using Google's consent form. Data may be processed by Google (Firebase / AdMob) services.
- California (CCPA): we do not sell personal information.
- India (DPDP Act 2023): we collect only the minimum data necessary to run the app and honour consent for optional notifications and ad personalisation.
- Google Play Data Safety: our Play Store "Data Safety" section mirrors this policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and significant changes will also be announced in-app. The continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
